I’m always vehemently researching the great old artists that worked at the movie studios from as early as 1915. Max Factor, Eddie Senz, Jack Pierce, Perc Westmore. The tools and techniques they came up with, are still what we use today.
Old Hollywood. *sigh*
As usual, I got carried away and made the back more elaborate than needed. As it is, the camera never saw it. This was for the current issue of Vogue. The set was a late 50s Frank Loyd Wright kind of pad, which whispered “Marnie” to my ear.
trusty gal-pal Meletes drawpped by the shoot the other day and just had to sample the goods.
A couple of handmade horse hair wigs, plus the model’s own hair. Worked with Sanne Nijhof [Holland’s Next Top Model of 2007].
One of the outfits was Filep’s, the same one I had done a few weeks ago.
my good pal Meletes and I, had an evening.
Did the hair for a 15 page editorial for December’s Vogue magazine. A little behind the scenes of one of the wigs I did for it. Madysin Ritland was flown in to do it. Never met a performer with more composure, patience and discipline.
For some of the shots I used a very old wig [with a secret history and stories to tell], dyed it deathly pale blue and set it in a vague late 40’s early 50s sculpted Vertigo updo.

Moomintroll inspired. She’s a sister character to Nuptialis.
